City Court Judge
Honorable Robert C. Owsley
The Natchitoches City Court presides over Civil, Criminal, Traffic and Juvenile cases. Civil claims include personal injury, contract, and landlord-tenant cases up to $25,000. The Court also has criminal jurisdiction over misdemeanors that are offenses generally punishable by a fine of not more than $500 and/or a jail term of not more than six months. All fines, costs, and forfeitures levied by the judges are collected by the Natchitoches Police Department and City Marshal.
The Natchitoches City Court is located at 314 Rue Amulet. The court is open on all weekdays except holidays (listed below). The clerk’s office is open from 8:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and 8:30 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. Friday.
Electronic Plea (E-Plea)
The Natchitoches City Court is now able to receive electronic pleas (e-plea) for individuals who do not want or cannot come to Natchitoches City Court in person to dispose of their traffic and some misdemeanor cases. A payment plan with the city marshal is available as well.
This is how it works: simply call or email the city court and request the opportunity to set up an e-plea. Your information will be taken and an email will be sent to you in order to accomplish the plea, and you will be provided information on how to set up payment and/or a payment plan.
