The City of Natchitoches Public Works Department is responsible for the care and maintenance of public streets and right-of-ways including sidewalk and pot hole repair, litter abatement, grass cutting and removal of storm debris. The department is also responsible for operating a number of pieces of heavy equipment such as tractors, mowers and a street sweeper that cleans the streets of Natchitoches on a regular basis.
Much of the day-to-day upkeep of City streets, sidewalks and right of ways is handled through the Public Works Department. For a listing of more of the department's responsibilities within the City, please click here.
The department assists with many of the special events that take place in the City of Natchitoches, especially the downtown area. These events include the Natchitoches Christmas Festival, Boogie on the Bricks and the Natchitoches Jazz/R&B Festival.
Public Works works closely with Progressive Waste Solutions on sanitation services within the City of Natchitoches.
