City Council
The City of Natchitoches is governed by a Home Rule Charter, which is known as a “mayor-council” form of government. The City of Natchitoches’ municipal government consists of an elected council that constitutes the legislative branch of government and an elected mayor who serves as the chief executive officer and head of the executive branch.
Natchitoches City Council
The legislative power of the City of Natchitoches is vested in a council consisting of five members – four of which are elected from districts and one elected at large by voters in the City of Natchitoches. A member of the council is elected for a four-year term, concurrent with that of the mayor.
The Natchitoches City Council meets the second and fourth Monday of every month at 5:30 p.m. at the Natchitoches Arts Center, located at 716 Second Street.
To contact a member of the Natchitoches City Council or to receive notification of City Council meetings, please call City Clerk Stacy McQueary at the Natchitoches Mayor’s Office at (318) 352-2772.
