FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

CITY PLEAS WITH CUSTOMERS TO CONSERVE WATER TO ALLEVIATE STRAIN ON WATER SYSTEM

NATCHITOCHES –  This morning, Utility Director, Matt Anderson is pleading for utility customers to conserve water and when temperatures get above freezing today to please turn off your faucet taps.  Anderson stated, “The strain that has been placed on the Natchitoches Water System cannot recoup if we do not ask our customers to do their part in conserving water at this time.”

As mentioned yesterday, the public should be aware that the water pressure will remain low or possibly zero for several days.  Please boil your water for one full minute before consuming.  If you do have water at this time, please conserve it and be prepared to shut your water off if you experience leaking or busted pipes.

If you experience a water leak at your residence or business and cannot shut off your water, please contact (318) 357-3880.  The Utility Department will send someone to assist in turning the water off.
