Colonial Planting

Planting was an important part of 18th century life as it would determine the main meal bases from its harvest to the following harvest. Join park staff as they plant the Fort kitchen garden and they discuss some of the trials of an 18th century garden.

Bloomin’ on the Bricks

Experience the beauty of springtime in downtown Natchitoches during Bloomin’ on the Bricks. Bloomin’ on the Bricks will take place on the downtown riverbank in Natchitoches’ National Historic Landmark District. The event is free to the public.

Reading on the River

The Service League of Natchitoches will host Reading on the River, an annual community literacy event promoting the importance and enjoyment of reading outside the classroom, on Saturday, March 8. The event will take place on the Natchitoches Riverbank from 10 am-1 pm.
