Recreation & Parks
The mission of the City of Natchitoches Recreation and Parks Department is to provide all Natchitoches residents and visitors the opportunity to enjoy a diverse mix of well-maintained, safe, accessible areas and facilities within the City’s park system. The department also seeks to offer a variety of indoor/outdoor recreational opportunities and innovative programming, which may benefit and enhance an individual quality of life and well being.
The department oversees a number of local parks, playgrounds and recreational facilities, many of which feature walking trails, playground equipment and covered pavilions. The department provides an assortment of recreational programming for both adults and children that include adult softball and adult swim lessons and youth flag and tackle football, youth basketball, youth speed and conditioning camp, youth boxing, youth swimming lessons and youth cheer and dance. Recreation and Parks Department works closely with other sporting leagues to provide additional recreational opportunities to local youth. Youth baseball, softball and soccer are offered seasonally to Natchitoches youth.
