NATCHITOCHES – The City of Natchitoches announces the Love Louisiana Outdoors grant application is available for viewing. A copy of the grant application is also available at Natchitoches City Hall, 7110 Second St. from 7:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. The City is seeking public comments on the project, which will serve to rehabilitate Richardson Park and provide accessible recreation facilities for residents of all abilities.

The City proposes to add a walking trail, complete with LED lighting, a new pavilion near the park’s front entrance, an inclusive playground for families of all abilities, ADA-compliant benches, new trash receptacles, pedestal-mount barbecue grills, and a full basketball court for the youth. In addition, the project aims to add parking spaces to add in traffic congestion on the streets surrounding the park, removal of blighted structures, and the addition of upgraded bathroom facilities. The total cost of the project is approximately $400,000.
