FIRE HYDRANT FLOW TESTING STARTS WEEK OF SEPTEMBER 10

 

NATCHITOCHES – The Natchitoches Fire Department will be conducting fire hydrant flow tests starting the week of September 10, 2018 through Friday, October 12, 2018. The opening of fire hydrants may result in temporary water discoloration that should return to normal within a few hours of the test.

 

The Natchitoches Fire Department appreciates the public’s patience while these tests are being completed.  For more information or questions, please call (318) 357-3860 and speak with the Chief or Assistant Chief on duty.

 

 


 

 

NOTICE OF WORK SESSION

The City of Natchitoches will hold a work session at 4:30 p.m. on Monday, August 27, 2018
at the Natchitoches Arts Center, 716 Second Street, Natchitoches, Louisiana.
The purpose of the work session is to discuss the Garbage and Recycling Contract. 
All persons interested are encourage to attend.

The purpose of this notice is to provide the public the opportunity make comments or ask any questions concerning the BJA FY 2018 Edward Bryne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant (JAG) Program

Closure of St. Denis Street Extended Until Further Notice

The City of Natchitoches would like to advise the public that the temporary closure of St. Denis Street from Second Street to Third Street originally set to end Tuesday, August 21, 2018 will remain closed until further notice, due to the extent of work being done to upgrade waterlines and recent rain fall in the area.

During this closure, traffic may detour around the work site via the adjacent network of City streets. When traveling near the work zone, motorists are advised to exercise caution and to observe all warning signs and flagger instructions.

The City of Natchitoches Warn Public to Beware of Utility Frauds and Scams

The City of Natchitoches is warning residents of a bill payment scam that is targeting utility customers. Impersonators, claiming to be the City of Natchitoches Utility Service Center, are calling Natchitoches residents threatening if they don't pay their delinquent bill immediately, their utilities will be shut off within 30 minutes. 

Residents are reminded to be very cautious of any caller demanding money or payment. The City of Natchitoches Utility Service Center advises anyone receiving such calls to never make payment or provide the caller with any personal or banking information. If customers believe there is a problem with their account, they are encouraged to call the City of Natchitoches Utility Service Center at (318) 357-3844.
