Natchitoches Historic District Wallking Tours (11am & 2pm)

Cane River National Heritage Area and the Natchitoches Historic District Development Commission offers guided walking tours of the Natchitoches National Historic Landmark District twice daily at 11am & 2pm, Tuesday through Saturday. 

The walking tours will cover topics such as: the Cane River region prior to European contact; the French & Spanish colonial period; antebellum plantation culture and period; Reconstruction and tenant farming; architectural history; and Creole and Catholic culture, history and customs. The tours are family friendly and meant to engage all ages.

Tours are free and will begin at the Natchitoches Area Convention and Visitors Bureau located at 780 Front Street. For large group tours, please contact the Cane River National Heritage Area in advance at 318.356.5555.

NPSO Chicken Dinner Fundraiser

NPSO Chicken Dinner Fundraiser

The Natchitoches Parish Sherriffs' Office will sponsor a Chicken Dinner Fundraiser to benefit NARC (a non-profit organization serving adults with developmental disabilities). This event will take place at the Natchitoches Downtown Riverbank on Friday, April 10, 2015 from 11:00am- 1:30pm.  Plates are $8.00 and include:  BBQ Chicken, Potato Salad, Baked Beans, and a Dessert.   Orders of 5 or more can be delivered!

An Evening of Art

An Evening of Art

Please join Friends of Louisiana Sports & History (FLASH) and the Louisiana Sports Hall of Fame and Northwest Louisiana History Museum for an evening of painting, fun and wine. Artist Lucretia Glorioso will guide participants through the process of painting their very own works of art to take home. All supplies, as well as wine and light refreshments, are included in the registration fee of $45/general public, $40/FLASH members with valid ID card.
